Nervous about cep app

Published

I applied last week to the asu/gcc concurrent program for fall 2018. I have a 3.46 gpa, 100 math hesi and 94 English composite. Will this be enough? Should I retake the hesi before the deadline? Should I be retaking classes for the may deadline for spring? I'm freaking out

I believe that adds up to 19 points. There is a post on the Maricopa Nursing Facebook page where people from this application cycle are posting their scores. I've noticed most scores are between 18 and 20. A couple people have posted 21 and 23. The good thing about gcc is that it's 100% cep so you have a shot for sure. If you can retake the hesi and shoot for 95 in English that would bump you up 2 points :) good luck!

I think if you already applied, you cannot change your scores because they will go by the ones you submitted. However, I may well be wrong, so check with the college to be sure. Regardless - your HESI scores are great. Do you have a previous degree? That would give you a few extra points too, I believe.

What's the worst that can happen? You don't get in? Then just re-apply for the next time...in fact, you can keep re-applying every time around (if you don't get in) until eventually your nursing pool application will guarantee you a place on the ADN. Then, accept that place (if you haven't gotten in the CEP), keep your grades up, and you can bridge to the CEP anyway - so either way you should get in! It's just that the CEP is faster (if you get accepted) because there's no wait list.

Good luck!

What is the exact page that people are posting their points?

Not sure exactly what you mean by "posting their points", but I am assuming you mean where are they figuring out their points?

Here is the rubric so you can figure out yours:

Once you have your point total, the only place it really matters is on your application! People "post" there points on here so they can get an idea of where they are compared to others, but that's really all it's for.

Good luck!
