if a pt gets a femoral and a sciatic nerve block, could she be taken out of bed and placed on a chair for ex; supper?

if yes,What assessment or criteria should be met before transferring her to a chair??

If no, what is the reason or rational?

I believe you should assess for numbness/tingling in the leg. Hate to get a pt up and have them collapse because they have no feeling in their leg. If they can feel and stand, then I would get them up. I have a pt with a block right now and I didn't get him up on day one because he had very little feeling in his leg. The next day I used 2 and a walker just in case. Hope this helps.
