Needs suggestions for long-term care setting NP position

Published

Hello everyone.

I am new to this site and I must say i have enjoyed reading most of the nursing topics and feedbacks posted on the site. I have a job related concerns that i need suggestions. I am new NP, who is contemplating a position with the united health group in a long term care setting. However, I have over seven yrs experience as an RN in an acute care setting on medical/ surgical unit. I have not been interviewed yet. I believe it may be done over the phone since it appears the company is not based in my current state-ny. I would like to know if anyone ever worked for this company, and if so how were they? These are some of the questions that i am planning to ask: 1. if there will be an orientation and the length of it. 2. number of patients that i would be responsible for. 3. if there will be a collaborative physician.Any suggestions on what else i should be asking? Also, anyone working in this setting that can shed light on how work is like on this environment will be appreciated. Thank you for your suggestions.
