needlestick injury

hi everyone,

i got stuck by a suture needle while assisting a doctor. the source is hiv positive. i am taking AV meeds which really gives me stomach discomforts. i need to take it for a month. my baseline results are all negative...still waiting for my 12 weeks tests post-injury. im really hoping and praying that everything will turn out negative. just scared the hell out of me. does anyone have the same situation like me. just wanting to hear positive stories and advice as well.. I know your post is a bit older, however I just read your story and am sorry to hear about your circumstance. I just read an article about the impact of the year 2000 Federal Needlestick Safety and Prevention Act in different healthcare settings, and though in many settings the incidence of needlesticks decreased, they actually increased in surgical settings. needlestick injury - pg.2
