I kind of have a needle phobia. I get bothered by IVs and drawing blood but not by shots. I think what bothers me the most is just the place where you insert the needle. If I had to put an IV in someone's hand or neck I would be fine, but not the arm. I'm not sure how to go about solving this problem.

I do not have any words of advice (I am a new student) however, all I can do is tell you that I hope you can figure out a way to push through this phobia.

Have you actually drawn blood, inserted an IV or given a shot yet? As someone who has a HUGE phobia of needles myself, I can honestly tell you I have no issues at all taking a needle after someone. I can give shots, draw blood and start IV's with no issues (and with my clinical instructor there since I am still a student). The two things that set my phobia off and makes me very nauseous is if the needle is going into me, or seeing pictures/video of someone getting a shot.
Guess it just boils down to is you might have the phobia, but while you are holding the needle, you might be able to control your phobia along with the needle itself
I never thought about it like that. Since I have the needle, I am in control. That actually might help me a lot.
