  1. Have you actually drawn blood, inserted an IV or given a shot yet? As someone who has a HUGE phobia of needles myself, I can honestly tell you I have no issues at all taking a needle after someone. I can give shots, draw blood and start IV's with no issues (and with my clinical instructor there since I am still a student). The two things that set my phobia off and makes me very nauseous is if the needle is going into me, or seeing pictures/video of someone getting a shot. Guess it just boils down to is you might have the phobia, but while you are holding the needle, you might be able to control your phobia along with the needle itself
