Needing prayers for entrance test

Published

I will be taking the TEAS entrance exam in a month. I have the McGraw-Hills Nursing School Entrance Exams Study guide. I am already stressing out over this test. I have been studying for the last month. I wanted to give myself some time to study. I have been out of school for over 20yrs. There was and still is a lot I need to refresh. I will be taking the test on 3/24. Please say a little prayer for me. And any test taking tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Tippy,

I took the TEAS version V a couple of weeks ago. I'm older, already have a college degree, no math in years and years, only recent science has been pre-reqs. I used free online websites and library books to prepare math, reading comprehension, & English grammar. I went through this website and compiled list of all comments posters have made about what to study for version V. I focused study on math and science primarily, expecting those to be the hardest sections for me. I found self-study books on basic math, pre-algebra and algebra and practiced a lot. We weren't allowed to use a calculator during the test so I practiced everything by hand. I got my hands on McGraw-Hill from the library about 4 days before I took the test. I went through entire McGraw-Hill, took the pre-tests, worked through each section, took quizes, did practice problems, and the post-tests. I targeted study on those topics I struggled with the most. I took off work the day before the test to rest, study, and mentally prepare. These strategies worked for me and I was really pleased with my scores (88.7% overall, 99th percentile). My highest grade was math--93%. I think the comments from this website about what is on the test and the McGraw-Hill book paid off. BTW, there is more than one form for version V. I had B and I know another student who had A. Not sure how many others. So, if someone tells you "science was lots of micro and chemistry" that means their form was primarily micro and chemistry. If you have another form, it will be a different mix.

ATI has study guides you can purchase as well as practice on-line tests. I know several students who have used their products and found them helpful.

The best of luck to you!
