I worked in a GP surgery in the UK and we, for most parts was totally computerised including imms. Each imms had a code and when given or updating patient's file imms was added using appropriate code and then kept under a general heading of immunisations (this also included adult vac) For imms that required a repeat or imms like MMR a date would be calculated when child was added to the system informing when imms was due going by date administered or DOB
Hope I have explained this a bit clearer than it looks

I would like some more information on a good, user friendly immunization tracking system and the process of getting one set up. If anyone has some useful info let me know.
Also I am currently working on my BSN & my eventual goal is to become an NP. I would like to hear from some nurse practitioners if this is a good idea and give me some feedback on whether or not you would do it again. I'm 53 so I've been nursing for quite a long time but needed something a little more challenging.
Thanks!!

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has any information on how to set up an immunization tracking system via computer in a general practitioner's office? We give many immunizations but many times the parents forget their immuniz. records or have lost them and we spend countless time trying to get the records if we don't have them on file in the office. We also don't have a system to know when a child is due their immunizations.
Thanks!
