Hi,
We started a new position for an RRT RN in our hospital which we're very excited about, in theory, but we don't have anything set up about how to orient someone specifically to this new position. Doors anyone else have this position at your hospital and able to share your onboarding structure? Or is anyone in this position and able to talk about what would have helped you onboard to it? Thanks!

Do you have the groundwork laid for the position, such as policies supporting the functions of the position and mechanisms in place for the RRT to facilitate actions as laid out by your policies?
If you have all of these things then it seems like most of the orientation would just be familiarizing an RN experienced in responding to such scenarios with your policies, expectations and supporting structures, e.g. order sets. And then familiarizing themselves with the nuts and bolts as necessary (EMR, communication structures, etc., etc.). Or are you looking to put a new grad into this role?
