Need an OR table instruction manual (Shodobe and I already looked...)

Specialties Operating Room

OK, I'll post this here, in the hope that somehow, somewhere, there is an O.R. nurse manager or materials co-ordinator who still has possession of a user's manual (instructions) for the old manual Amsco 1080 O.R. table.

Remember? It was the one that plugged in to the wall, and had a hydraulic cylinder supporting it, but the controls--whether for side to side, Trendelenberg, reverse Trendelenberg, foot up, foot down, Semi-fowlers, table height adjustment--everything was operated with a manual crank, on the right side at the head of the bed. You also depressed the table lock manually.

These tables are still in circulation, but usually used only on minor cases, because they are not radiolucent--you need to put a C-arm extension on them if you want to do fluoro. They've been around since the '50s, but most O.R.s replaced theirs with Amsco 2080s in the 1980s--or they went to Skytron tables.

If anyone has one of these ancient manuals around, please p.m. me--I've contacted everybody I know, including Shodobe, and haven't been able to locate one. I am glad to pay for copying and faxing or mailing.

Just FYI, Amsco is now owned by Steris--some of the old Amsco reps stayed on with Steris.

Thanks so much!

I remember that table quite well. You just brought back some very old memories.

I can check at work for you to see if they have any of the old instruction sheets, but is there something specific that you need to know about it?
