Hello Group**
I am an RN that works with lasers and injectables (amoungst other routine cosmetic procedures). I work for an MD, but I am an independent contractor, which means that I need to procure my own malpractice insurance. The problem? I haven't been able to find a company that will cover laser/injectables! In fact, they specifically exclude coverage for these procedures. I work in California, USA and would appreciate it if anyone has specific knowledge of an insurance company that would cover me.
Thanks,
Beauty Duty

If you are a homeowner, perhaps you can obtain professional Liability Insurance as a rider on the homeowner's insurance policy. This is all that comes to my mind.
That's a good idea!, I will call!.... I have Allstate Homeowners Insurance, but I am skeptical because some of the major nursing malpractice insurers specifically exclude cosmetic/laser treatment coverage. Thank you very much for your reply:)

I am not sure about specifics you mention but, many of the nursing organizations have companies they work with and get discounts. Does your speciality have a professional nursing organization? If so call them they should be able to steer you in the right direction. Also, may try calling the company that certifies or trains nurses in this area.

I do not want to endorse any insurance group but as a nurse I did get professional Liability Insurance. Have you gone to Nurses service Organization - NSO.COM yet? It's a website specializing on nurses insurance. I think they may have professional liability insurance you need.
