Hello everyone!
I am new here. I have been asking a nursing student friend of mine most of my questions but I think she is tired of me=)...lol..Well I was wondering about the ACT/SAT tests? I am planning on going to a comunity college in town & have already applied. But they are on spring break. Soooo I have questions I want answered before I go next Wed to take my CPT test. If I need to take the ACT/SAT then I want plenty of time to study for it. I have been brushing up on my math.
I think you all would need a little info on me to give me a good answer...lol...I am a 22yr old mom of three (one boy & two girls) I have picked up the trade of dog grooming and have worked full time for the past 2-3years. I am planning on going for my RN lic. starting this May or Fall? I have to get my prereq's out of the way 1st. I am pretty sure my grades from high school were all c and above. Ummm..I think that is about it. I sure hope someone can help me =)

Hi Jessica!
First of all, welcome to the sisterhood:D
Anyways, about the ACT/SAT scores, I don't think they even look at it when you apply. I know that when you apply to universities, they want to see those scores but other than that, they won't be looking at those. Although, you will need to take the NET (Nursing Entrance Test). That for sure they will look at. I recommend you taking it after almost all of your pre-reqs are done because sometimes, depends onwhat school you are attending, NET scores can only be good for such a time period that once that time pass, you will have to retake it.
About the classes you took from high school, some or most schools will tkae your chemistry or biology but I HIGHLY recommend to take the college level science courses because it is quite different from high school science classes. In college, it is more in depth. But you definitely need to meet with an advisor on your school of choice for the nursing program. They will walk you through on what you need and even recommend which classes you should take...
Well, I hope this helps you a bit!
And good luck!
