Need Info on Winthrop (New Hire)

Hey there, I was recently offered a position at Winthrop hospital in mineola, ny. I was just wondering if anyone can provide me with any information regarding this hospital.

I know they just recently attained Magnet status. Anyone know how their orientation is like? My only other RN experience has been a year at a Rehab facility, although from what other nurses told me, it runs like a med surg floor.

I was just wondering on how the orientation is like at Winthrop. How administration or management treats their nurses. Are the nurses their relatively happy? Or is turnover rate high due to unhappy overworked RNs?

Any info would be great. Thank you in advance.

I have been working there 14 months and have not seen high turn over. The staff is wonderful and the training is a preceptorship for about a month. Good luck! What floor are you on?
