need info about schoolcrafts nursing program

Published

Hello,

I have posted here before. I was wondering if anyone could give me more information on schoolcrafts nursing program. Can their Lpn program be done on a part time basis? would really love some advice from someone that has gone thru this program at least the first year of it.. I will have a ton of questions for you :) thanks!

Hi there,

I am in the second year of the program. 3 more classes to go!

Schoolcraft switched last year to a ladder curriculum. Everyone take the same prereqs. Then, the first year is 1 15 week class and the rest are 7 weeks, this includes a spring course that runs until the end of June. Lecture is 1 day/week. Clinicals are 2 days.

After the first year, there is a capstone course in the summer the results in the LPN certificate. You may then exit or continue on with the second year.

There is no part time.

I think we talked about this before. There is no part time program. The program is as easy as possible, you take one nursing course at a time except for the Spring/Fall semester. There is no other way to be part time. Also like we discussed before, the waitlist is atleast four years. I remember you saying you had a child and needed late classes, by the time you get in your child will be in school.

How is the program so far? Just really want to hear from someone that has gone thru the first year. I get how it runs now! I understand how it could not be done on a part time basis. I was looking at how LCC does theirs and thought maybe schoolcraft did it in the same manner. Did you find that you had a life outside of school? was the first year hard? Is the material complicated or just the amount of work that has to be done? Also do you have to put in community hours? How are the instructors? Sorry so many questions..I just really want to get the whole picture of how the program is!

Jpride2011- how long is your wait time as of now? and yes you did respond to my other post. I just wanted more info on schoolcrafts program. It seems that there is hardly any posters from this school. Thanks again and Good luck to you :)

Thanks, I start 2011, so I'm taking Pharmacology and Informations in May and I start the actual nursing classes in September.

If you click on the user name of someone it takes you to a page where you can select from a menu to send a private message.

I think I have to have at least 15 posts or something like that. It won't let me click on your name :(
