Need info on Ocala Please :o)

Published

Hi,

We are in the process of moving to Ocala area.

Can anyone out there help with the best location to live in Marion county? The BEST school district..............is there such a thing as the best NO crime area? We cant afford million $$$ homes, but dont want to buy in a neighborohood that is run down and not a good place for the kids to grow up in.

Also, if anyone has good leads on employment around Ocala? What do doctors offices pay for LPN w/ 15 years exp.?

Any help/info/websites would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Brenda

Great to have you here. Sorry, I have no information for you. Just wanted to welcome you. Enjoy the forums.

I lived in Ocala for about a year, in 1999, back then my daughter was barely a year old so I'm not sure about the schools. But here is the Marion county school website, they should have a spot to shot the grade A schools.

When we lived there the place that we lived was in Marion Oaks, it's right of I-75 so commuting was easy. I'm nost sure what it's like now, but there was still a lot of land where you could build a house on and such. The neighborhood we lived in was nice and quite, they kind of place where the kids can play ball in the street. But like I said that was a few years ago so who knows. There is a mixture of older homes and newer homes so you could easily find something in your price range. There was a plot of land reserved for a health care facility there but I'm not sure if it was ever built. The developer of that area had big plans but was slow to execute them.

Here is a Marion Oaks Realtor, you can get an idea of the homes.

I'm not sure about employment since I wasn't working then nor am I now though so can't help you in that aspect.

Good luck with your move!
