Need help writng an OB Resume

Hello all. I am currently working on my first OB resume. I work on a L&D unit and want to find a job in the same. Can anyone give me guidance as how to best write the resume.

My biggest problem is I can't seem to fit on one page at size 12 font, it's at size 11 now. I don't have that much experience but between the L&D duties and my former Med-Surge duties and the NRP/ACLS/BLS certs, license number and my AWHONN membership that I put under Affiliations I feel like I really skimmed on the job description duties.

My exact bullets are as follows:

Triage gravidous clients

Admit, assess and provide care for clients in labor, for induction, cesarean section, and antipartum monitoring; including high risk obstetrical populations

Perform Electronic Fetal Monitoring and charting via TraceVue

Administer medications and document via QuadraMed

Function as Circulating nurse in operating room

Function as PACU nurse in recovery room

Function as team leader when caring for critical clients

Perform urethral catheterization, IV insertion, and blood transfusion

We have an L&D triage where we see patients but I'm not sure "triage gravidous clients" is understandable. Also I did not mention that I float to post partum nor all those other nursing duties like teaching, collaborating with team members and safety.

I would appreciate some help please, thank you.

Although it is recommended to keep your resume to one page, your experience and certifications are very valuable and important for your future employer to review. I have had a 2 page resume for many years due to my extensive medical related work experience and I have been called for interviews for every job I applied for and been offered most. I really don't think it's that important to keep it to one page if the information is related to your field.

Maybe you can try combining some of the bullet points? Such as the grouping the 3 functions under one bullet point.

"Function as Circulating nurse in operating room, PACU nurse in recovery room and team leader when caring for critical clients." Or maybe just the first two and leaving the team leader one as its own bullet point. You should definetely try to fit in something about educating patients though.

My sister always had a problem making her resume fit to one page. You could also try maybe changing the margin to .5.

Recombining is a good idea, that will give me more space. I don't want to use up more than a page since my nursing experience spans less than tree years so it will be comical to spread it out over two pages.

Any advice on including GPA? Should I state the date a certification expires or it will suffice to say current BLS etc.?

I was always told not to include your GPA unless you graduated with a 3.5 or above.

I agree with the previous poster about combining some of the functions.

Also, in regards to your statement about including the triage section. I would write it as "Triage, admit, assess and provide care for clients in labor, for induction, cesarean section, and antipartum monitoring; including high risk obstetrical populations."

I would think that would all fall under the same category, since generally you triage the patient before admitting them.
