need help on verbal section of NLN

I am taking the NLN Pre-Admission Exam Friday, and even though I made a 32 on my ACT in English, I can barely pass a practice exam on the vocabulary part. Does anyone have any advice?

Yes, I have the book, and I've taken all the practice tests in it for the verbal section. I do fine on the comprehension part, but the vocab trips me up...I guess i've just never been exposed to it.

I scored in the 99th percentile on verbal on the NLN, but my word knowledge comes from reading books nonstop since I was a kid.

Can you find a good vocabulary builder book? I've seen someone link a good one here before.
