First of all do a search and look for the cno (College of Nurses of Ontario) website and see the requirements for applying for registration in Ontario.
I have no idea how they would view an unregistered student from the US- but they will tell you by phone or email.
BE AWARE that this year coming 2004 is the last year you can write a registration exam as a nurse in Ontario as a graduate of a college- after Dec 2004- in other words Jan 2005 you must a degree prepared nurse to sit the registration exam.
Good luck

hi
greetings everyone!!! i need help with a couple of these questions and if anyone can answer, that would be greatly appreciated... ok.. so i am a canadian from toronto studying nursing at an american school in california. i will be done with my associate's degree in nursing on 9th of this month. ok, so i plan on going home for christmas and studying at home in toronto for the next quarter till about march or something like that so i can take my tests. does anyone have any idea how i can take both tests? i plan on being certified in both canada and us. they've given us packets to fill out for the california state boards which requires a livescan where we have to pay around 50 bucks to get our fingerprints done. i don't think this is really good considering i will be home for the next few months and if i register for california that may mean i may have to fly out to cali from toronto to take my test. anyway, what i want to know is if there is an easier way to get registered for the american boards while im in canada so i don't have to do all this other stuff required for the cali boards. also, how would i go about taking my canadian boards. someone please help me. thanks to anyone reading and replying to this.
god bless,
j-me.
