I am going to finish my BSN program in may. I am planning to move to texas and thinking about Houston and Dallas. i would like to apply for the internship programs near these cities.

how is the job market for the nurses in houston and Dallas?

when do I have to apply for the internship programs that starts in around july?

which are the best hopital for nurses?

which areas are best to live in around these cities?

when I think about the best hospitals, it is mainly r/t the working conditions and support from the collegues. I am really looking for the hospital that has great support system and working conditions. I would like to get the information as much as possible. Thank you.

Howdy!

Hope you decide on Houston - of course, as a native, I am a tad bit biased.

Just about all of our larger hospital systems have new grad programs. You can find them all on line - looking at the Texas Medical Center link http://www.texmedctr.tmc.edu/root/en and at the Memorial-Hermann site http://www.memorialhermann.org/ will provide you with info on the major players. I would advise contacting everyone ASAP because these programs fill up fast. Keep in mind that medical center workers have to park in remote lots which adds about 30 minutes each way to your commute time. Don't be reluctant to look at some of the other (non medical center) facilities, because they are very nice also.

I would recommend waiting until you have something lined up to look for housing. You will definitely want to live as close as possible to your work location. Houston traffic is legendary and pretty daunting to newcomers.

Feel to PM me if you want more specific information.
