Ok...this maynot be a "nursing" question, however it does have the aspects of helping people!!
My fiance's cousin had his trailor burn down 4 days ago and they lost everything. Red Cross helped them till today, however they have to be out of the hotel by tonight. Does anyone know anywhere that I can look into getting help for them?
Everyone on here has always given me such good help before so I am hoping to get help from you all today.
We live in Richmond, VA.
Thank you all!!

I can't imagine losing all my possessions - what a horrible feeling it must be. Did you try the Salvation Army, or a local social services agency? Perhaps you can contact a local radio station and ask them if they could drum up some donations? Is there a local Wal-Mart? They may be willing to help as well. Also, I'd call the local newspaper - the more people who know about what happened, the more help you may get. Hope everything works out alright.

is there a food bank in the area?
when a friend's relatives died in a fire and left a children without parents, an account/fund was set up at a bank so that people could donate to the fund
I have seen notices up on bulletin boards asking for donations of items like clothing (notices put up by the Women's Centre on behalf of a person or family who has needs for various reasons - like health, etc)
United Way? Salvation Army?
Social Services?
Hope things work out
