Hi All,
I am an MICU RN working in Michigan. Having 8 years of experience in the same. I am planning to relocate to Dallas in few months. I would like to know some information regarding pleasant, affordable and safe living location, best hospitals (preferably teaching hospitals) with good pay. Also i have a plan to do my MSN after few years of service. So i need information about the hospitals which helps for the higher studies.
I am looking forward your help. thanks in advance.
Other than Dallas is there any other good cities in Texas with good job opportunity ?

Hi!
Do you have any children? This may factor into your decision. There are a lot of fantastic urban neighborhoods around here with good rates, but probably aren't kid friendly because they don't have a ton of space.
I'm not a big fan of suburbs myself, but there are some great older ones around here where housing can be had in safe area, and very affordable. Remember that the housing bubble was a myth, and is over! So you'll probably not want to go too far out in the middle of our very far flung exurbs (we have a TON of those here, and most of the people that have moved to them are not quite happy anymore, even less so when gas was up. And we all know it will go up again!)
There are a lot of good hospitals here, depending on where you want to live.
As far as other Texas cities, Dallas is quite likely the best as far as growth and jobs. I'd really recommend checking it out around here before you look at other cities. Hope this helps!

Hi Amsvj- I am also from Michigan and just relocated to the Dallas area! Baylor University Medical Center is a huge teaching hospital and is located downtown Dallas. As for where to live, it depends on how far you are willing to drive and how much you want to spend per month on a place. Downtown Dallas has some nice places, as well as uptown Dallas, Irving (Las Colinas area), and there are many more! There are many nice places in the Dallas area, but I would try to get close to where you are going to work, just because traffic can be crazy at times. I hope this helps you out!
