my wife passed the Nclex under the california board of nursing,,,and will be expring january 2011 unless she provides a SSN before then,,,,my problem is she will be issued a family based visa this December 2010 and will be coming to the states this january but by the time she gets her SSN ( wch is 2-3 weeks from the time she arrive) her 3 year period would have expired already,,,,,what were trying to avoid is having to repeat the whole process again of submitting all the required documents esp how the beauracracy works in the Philippines, it just takes so000 long,,,,,then by the time we get all the required documents it will take a few months for CBON to process it,,,,,time is not actually on our side,,,esp here in the US where people need to get to work ASAP esp where not at any financial stability as of the moment,,,,,,my question is what other options do we have, that we wont need anymore documents from the philippines and just work on what CBON already has?coz the way i see it having to sumbit all documents again to CBON and for them to process it i believe would be another 3-5 months ( correct me if im wrong),,,pls help

Have you tried contacting the BRN and explaining the situation to them and whether they could give her chance to get sorted with SSN once she has immigrant visa?

I agree with Silverdragon, that was going to be my first suggestion. Just tell them what you've told us and see if you can get an answer. Hope it works out for both of you!!!!

unfortunately they no longer accept extension emailed them twice already , same reply,,,,,,would transferring to a different state be easy and fast?

Going to another state may not be quick and easy as requirements will still need to be met, most require CES from CGFNS which is a eval report of transcripts. Takes approx 4 months to go through the process and needs to be started sooner rather than later if that is the route you are looking at
