With the new company. The two lpns are staying. I am just wondering how to make the
Transition yo the new compamy and me go more smoothly. I know that this is a stressful time for these
Nurses. I do want to be successful. I just wondering if anyone has some good advice. I have been
A supervisor and a unit manager before. I want to help decrease the stress. We dont have time to get to know eachother.

Cheri,
Since you won't have time ahead of time to get to know the other staff, I would suggest a short meeting as early as possible so you can sit down and get to know each other. Keep it informal and over coffee. Introduce yourself, tell a little about yourself and your experience and let the others do the same. You want to convey to them that you are approachable and open for any suggestions for a smooth transition. That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. I've never had to walk in cold to a management position but moved up in the company I already worked for, so I knew my coworkers. I was more concerned about going from peer to 'boss' and whether they would respect me as an authority figure. Both scenarios are challenging! Good luck to you. Let us know how it goes.
