Need Help: Friend flunked ASN program: Options

Published

Need some advice here. I have a friend who flunked ASN school. Failed one clincal and then failed last semester which was cardio.

State of Florida BON allows for someone in an RN program to sit for LPN licensure if their school's program director sign off on the form attesting that they are proficient to take the test and have taken nutrition, psyche, pharm med surge ob/peds etc

My friend had taken all of these courses including nutrition which wasn't a requirement, but the PD refused to sign the form.

She's checked into Votech LPN programs but she has to take the TEAS and they will only give her credit for 2 blocks. She would still have to take 7mths of their 12mth course which seems sort of silly and extra for me.

Questions:

Have this happened to anyone here and if so, what did you do?

The community college will accept her back with a LPN license and will let her take the last semester to finish.

2. Do you know of any schools in South Florida that would accomodate such a student i.e LPN school without them having to pretty much take 3/4 of the course?

3. Do you know of any private schools or even online schools that would be able to help her?

Thanks
