need help with doing fingerprinting for out of state nurses

Published

hello everyone,

I am reinstating my GA RN license moving from NJ. Can someone please help!!! I have called the board numerous times and the person who answers is clueless. They told me I have to obtain my own fingerprinting cards either from the precinct or whatever they don't care. I tried to order them online but they sold in #50 and higher. I don't need that many. my local precinct tells me I need to bring my own cards to them for fingerprinting. I don't know what to do. I need help from someone who has gone through these problems. I am licensed in another state as well but never had these problems before. thanks in advance.

I recently moved from Massachusetts and had the same problem with fingerprinting cards. I called the Georgia Board of Nursing and they sent me three cards in the mail. Then I had to take them to my local Police Station and have the fingerprints done. I ran all over town to the local, county, and even state police stations before figuring all that out!! Maybe try to call again. Now that you know what to ask for, it should be pretty easy (hopefully!!) :sarcastic:

Good luck with the move! :D

Hello Stefanurse,

Did you get it sorted yet? I just googled places that do fingerprinting. Paid about $40 and that included the cards. And then sent it off.

Hope this helps. I think the courts do it as well.

I went through a link from the ga board website. I did not have to deal with any fingerprinting cards, the woman who made my fingerprints said they no longer use those cards. I do remember there are places all over the state of GA. hopefully this will help y'all!
