Okay so this is going to sound pretty complicated but here it goes , I'm currently at a community college as of right now and I'm taking prerequisite classes for more than one nursing school. So far I need a intro to biochem for OU only and a micro for my community college program which is also required for Wayne states as well. Now here's my question: the deadline for my community college is in Feb and I need the micro and a intro to nursing course to apply but my Main school is oakland university and it needs the intro to biochem which I'm going to take for sure this coming fall! I'm also applying for Wayne's program and it needs the micro as well and a math class , but for Wayne their deadline is In march so I can take micro in the winter which helps a lot!!
So would it be smart to take micro with intro to biochem and this really short intro to nursing class( it's only 2 month class) during fall, that way I could apply to my community college program as well ? Or instead of micro I would take math instead that way I would be assured I could ace all three?
Honestly because micro is scaring me I heard it's very hard and I'm just afraid I won't be able to ace my micro and biochem and I can't have that I need A's
I'm also a very good student I've had A's in A and P but took that class alone and took Regular Bio with a regular chem and aced both
My dream is to not stay at my community college but to go to a university most likely OU but would it be stupid of me to pass over my community
Colleges program for fall of 2014? Because if I don't apply by this Feb I have to wait until next Feb.
Please help I know this is long!! But nursing is very competitive!!! And my goal is to get in a program by fall of 2014!

Good day:
I cannot speak for all community colleges, but from what I've been seeing, many of them compete head on with universities especially in nursing.
My gut feeling would be that you aced all your past sciences, so go into Micro knowing you can do it!!!! As time permits use, Khanacademy to boost up your math skills.
Either way you go will work out for you (both of your choices, while hard, have positive outcomes).
Take care.

I did what you did... Took pre reqs at a community college & planned to transfer to a university for nursing school. Honestly, if you want to go to a 4 year school, don't take the nursing class for your community college. I say do the pre reqs for the universities, apply to them & transfer out.
Are you good at chemistry? If so, take it with microbiology. Micro is not that challenging (and can be pretty interesting), especially if you got an A in anatomy & physiology.
Thank you !
