I am in Grad school in the education track. So far I think there are only a few of us...everyone wants to be an NP....but someone has to step up and teach right? Anyway, I'd love to teach at a college, but also heard there are good hospital teaching positions....which way to go is my first question and my second question is....should I try and get a teaching job while in school or just wait until I graduate? I currently work in a hospital making very good money. Just wanted some opinions...thanks in advance!
Kudos to you for going into education, pattymac.
What type of hospital teaching positions? I currently am an educator at the university and also in the hospital. In the hospital I teach seminars/programs for residents and nurses.
As for should you get a teaching postition now? I don't think I can offer advice other than to say, if you do, just be sure you have plenty of time to complete your program. And, the money will no longer be "good". But, that's not why you are going into education anyway, right?
It is fulfilling. Very very rewarding career.
Good luck.
