Need to find a nursing school near Marietta

Published

Hi, we are a military family and will be relocated next July. Unfortunately, we have been given 16 different states as potential residences.

Can someone point me in the right direction of an accredited college with a nursing program? I would like to stay the community college route but, am open to looking into a University. I currently live in Oregon and have completed all of their required pre-requisites for the local community colleges. However, all states are different and I am struggling to complete this vast amount of research in order to use the upcoming fall term as effectively as possible. If you are familiar with this area and could provide me with some local schools and a link to their nursing program I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

Kennesaw State University is a good nursing program and about 15 minutes from Marietta. It is a University though and you would not be able to start in the Spring (you have to apply about a year in advance). Here is there website: WellStar School of Nursing

Chattahoochee tech has an LPN program, that is located right in Marietta, and then there are some bridge programs at other schools from LPN to RN (you could do this in the event that you do not want to wait until next year to start nursing school). Their website is

Chattahoochee Technical College - One College, Multiple Campuses, Community Focused

The best bet for you would probably be Georgia perimeter college, they offer an associates degree program for nursing. The college has 6 different locations in the Atlanta area, so I'm not quite sure which one or ones offer the RN program but here is the website and you can further contact them for more information :

GPC Nursing

Good luck and all the best!

There is also Georgia Highlands College. They are based out of Rome, but have a campus in Marietta. They offer an ASN, which takes 2 years(4 semesters) to complete.

Chattahoochee Tech actually has an ADN program now. It is located at the Austell campus.
