is it better to go from LPN TO RN TO BSN
or is it better to take pre-reqs and apply to be a rn then bsn
im still in the middle of taking pre-req's , and am wondering if its worth using a ladder program to go from LPN TO RN or just take a general transfer to a 4 year (w/pre-req's) and apply to a RN program that way? any idea or whats worked best?... im lost

The way I'll be doing it is...I'll take the pre-requisites for the ADN... and eventually I'll go for my BSN. I wouldn't go for the LPN first..I believe 1 NCLEX is stressing enough. Good luck

I agree, go for the ADN, then work on the BSN. Some nurses that only get an LPN, frequently get stuck there and find it difficult to finish their RN, while being paid much less doing mostly the same job, depending where you work.
thank you!, yeah i will go for a ADN then work towards a BSN.

While the answers for these kind of questions change depending on individual cirmcumstances, I would suggest that if you plan to get your RN, skip the LPN. It will just add extra work and extra steps. If you can afford to go straight to your BSN, do that. Again, going from ADN to BSN just adds more steps.

I agree with the others that posted to do ADN first... it just saves you some steps...Its easier to transition into RN to BSN without all the stress and hassle...
I have 2 friends...1 went straight to RN and the other did the LPN to RN bridge ... the one who did the bridge stated that she recieved more hands on experience thats why she chose that route...the one that chose the RN went straight through with no problems in 2 years... the LPN bridge had to attend an extra semester....so save some time and shoot for ADN...GOOD LUCK and BE BLESSED!
