Need a confidence boost

I am currently enrolled to start next semester in a PMHNP program. During my downtime at work, I search for psych np jobs for fun. I see very little listed, everything wants years of experience to apply, etc. Getting jobs as an RN has always been so easy.

I feel like I should be going the FNP route because I'll never be able to get a job. I'm okay with moving for a job although I'd like to stay in the northeast if possible.

I guess I just need a boost of confidence, I feel like I am going to spend all this money, not get a job, not be able to pay back my loans, etc. This NP world is so different from the RN world.

Get a GS position with the VA or military. Good benefits and loan repayment

Right now there are lots of Psych np jobs especially if you are willing to move. In the northeast, there are jobs in western MA and NH. I think other places too. Look on Indeed.com. People prefer experience but I think you could find a place willing to train. And look at the VA- lots of opportunities to collaborate with psychiatrists and others. I do locum tenens psych np and there are a lot of openings right now. As long as insurers will pay. There are tremendous needs.
