I start my new job (LTC) tomorrow and I am so nervous I graduated in December & passed boards this month. I came out of the computer field and this is all just new for me and I want to be the best nurse that i can be. I expressed this in my interview that I am new and I will have a lot of questions.
Can anyone offer me some advise or feedback or personal first job experiences??

Remember cover your butt, you are only one person, nursing is 24 hours, and that you are human and will make mistakes. Make sure u get all of your orientation days you need
good luck

Just... good luck. The hardest part will probably be time management (it is for me). Just be willing to learn and it will hopefully all come together. Being nervous isn't always a bad thing, by the way. I would be worried if you weren't at least a little nervous.

I am in the exact same situation as you. I also graduated in December and got my license in Feb. I am in the orientation part of my job but right now it is all paperwork and videos. I am so nervous about alot of things because I know there is alot that I did not learn in school because they dont have time to teach you everything. My instructors always said that you will learn what you need to know when you start working because they will teach you but when you start a job they expect you to already know because no one wants to do their job and have to teach you. The one thing that is scaring me to death is not knowing how to do certain skills. And to add to my anxiety, my DON introduced my as a new nurse to all of the other nurses I would be working with, and instead of receiving a friendly welcome I received a few stares. I felt like running out of there. So I am feeling the same way as you. I hope you feel a little better knowing that someone else is experiencing the same feelings as you. Good luck in your new job. I too am starting in a LTC facility. If anyone has any words of encouragement, they will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the great advise & feedback.
