Need some advice!

Hello everyone!

Kind of in a whirlwind of thoughts right now. Graduating from LPN program in about 3 weeks. I am so excited and it's a been a long year!

Good news is I already have 2 job offers, one in home health and the other as an HIV/AIDS residential care nurse. So excited about the HIV/AIDS nurse job. The home health would be more or less prn, and they will hire me as a GPN.

Here is the dilemma. My boyfriend and I have made the decision after much thought to move after graduation. Lots on my mind because we are waiting till I take boards, then hitting the road. So, I am already prepping for boards because I graduate on Sept. 21, and want to take boards by Oct. 25. Move November 1st. It's to another compact state so that will be nice.

Besides everything riding on me passing boards (which is enough pressure:bluecry1:) I am now not sure what to do about these jobs? I want to work as a GPN while waiting to move cause we could really use the money for the move. But I don't want to burn any bridges either.

Feels like, "thanks for hiring me as a new grad, I passed boards, see ya!". But I fear if I let them in on the plans they will pass letting me work as a GPN prn since I won't need the full time position. I don't like stepping on toes or making waves. So it's making me a nervous wreck. Need money for the move tho. :banghead:

I'm stuck between a rock and an honest place. The stress of it all is killing me. :icon_roll

    Do you guys need to move NOW though? Not meaning now, but Do you have to be up and out by November 1st? You guys can't stay another year or at least 6 months?

    My advice would be to take the prn job until November instead. Seeing as it is prn, you would be less likely to burn bridges and complicate things like you would if you took the other job. Personally, having worked in the corporate world for 15 years, I think it would be unethical to accept a full time position that you knew you were going to quit in two months. That company will have to go through the hiring process all over again. There are also temp agencies specifically for nurses. You may want to look into that in your area. They should be able to place you until you move.
