I took a position at a community hospital 8 weeks ago, because I thought I needed a change of pace, going to 3 twelve hr shifts from 5 days a week (40 hrs).
My family hasnt adjusted very well to the new shift, it is a longer commute, for less pay. i do enjoy the work, but an oppty arose at my former employer for substantially more money. The sticky situation is that I am just coming off orientation in the next two weeks and I can start within the next two weeks at my former employer. Since I am on orientation, it seems futile for me to work out my orientation, but I do want to be professional about it. How should I handle this? It feels awkward but I could use the money so I feel I should go.
