I am new to the board here and am looking for some advice from anyone! I am currently enrolled in school to become a Patient Care Tech and am wondering if I am wasting my time. I ultimately want to become an RN, but am finding out that taking this PCT course might not be worth anything. I need some advice from some current students or RN's who can help guide me in the right direction. I'm just so confused!! I'm hearing from my school that LPN's are pretty much being replaced by PCT's but not making the same amount of money. I just don't know what to do.
Thanks to anyone who reads this and tries to understand what I'm saying!!

I would continue with the PCT class and work as that while in nursing school. And make sure you attend an ADN or BSN program. In my area, LPN's make more than PCT's but there are a lot of hospitals and even certain floors in hospitals that are wiping out LPN's as well. Hope this helped.
