I am 21 years old and a current student at Texas State University. I have 56 core credits with a 2.95 GPA. I recently changed my major to nursing and I'm moving back to Dallas to attend a nursing school. Which nursing school would you suggest? Why? and what path should I take (ADN? or BSN?) I'm anxious to get started as soon as possible!!

Does that gpa include science courses(a&p, micro, chem)?
Although schools may have their minimum gpa, many programs have a cutoff gpa depending on the applicants in that application period. For instance if 80% of the applicants had a 3.5 minimum gpa that would be the cutoff gpa.
Other schools don't use the cut off gpa, they use the minimum. They will rank students by gpa, entrance exam(if applicable), possibly volunteer experience, and their personal essays.
If your gpa doesn't include science, then it may help. Some schools just ask for a prereq gpa and science gpa. Some may or may not look at your overall gpa. Hope this helps
