OK here goes ...
I applied for a full time teaching job one month ago at my local CC, I confirmed with the director of the program that my application was received, but as of Friday I've heard nothing.
I did send a follow up email as well - stating my interest, etc...
This is the same program that I was already approved to teach at on a part time basis - but because of my full time position was unable to do so this semester.
I want to so badly call the director and ask if I am a candidate or not for the full time position. I know this sounds pushy, but I really need to know so that I can make other plans.
For example, If I am not a candidate for the FT position the I want to reapply to teach part time in the spring semester, and resign from my weekday job (so I can teach). I have decided that teaching is where I am supposed to be and want to do and I am prepared to make whatever sacrifices I need to in order to secure a teaching job - even if it is part time.
Would this be the kiss of death? To call and ask if I am being considered for the full time position? I just want to know so I can move on.
What do you guys think?

You may be caught in the middle of twelve other things going on and not forgotten on purpose. We have been going fast and furious since August and sometimes forget that we need to interview people!
If you are close, drop by for a visit. "Just checking in"
If not, you may be needed elsewhere more and being adjunct gets your foot in the door to see what that particular faculty group is like.
Some are amazed and thankful that they bypassed one faculty group for another to have a better fit.
Go with your "gut" and apply where you feel needed and wanted. You may find your fit in places you never imagined!!
Good luck!:typing
