Do you have any care work experience? If so, you will stand a much better chance of getting on a nursing course. Firstly, it would demonstrate that you have a genuine interest in pursuing a nursing career and secondly, you would probably find it easier to answer their questions as your work experience would give you a much better insight into the role of the nurse. Admission officers generally prefer that you have some previous related experience, say in a nursing home or some form of social care. Not sure what your background is but why not consider getting a job as a care assistant first? It would give you a good 'grounding' and would look good on your CV.

I agree, I think you should work as a health care assistant, so you can have a good idea of nursing and be able to answer the questions.
I started my training straight from school so I didn't have the chance to do this. Looking back I should have taken a gap year to get more experience.
I was lucky to get accepted on just having some work experience and a bit of volunteer work.
