Hello,
I'm 19 year male done with high school & I've made the decision to be a nurse! I plan to first be a LVN then RN.
I found two local LVN schools here in Concord, CA. Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts & American College of Nursing that I want to apply to. (suggestions?)
I'll be honest, I'm pretty poor and the only way I can pay is through a student loan and the school has to be local.
Now, I've heard so many good things about the salary and demand for nurses, but from what I hear about how hard it is to find a job, I'm pretty discouraged and worried that I would be wasting money and be stressing over paying back the student loan without a job. I have no family members in the medical field and I have no support or guidance from anyone. I really would love some advice and help. I would appreciate it so much, thank you.

You will have to have a job in another line of work to get by during school and until you get a nursing job. Realize that jobs just aren't that easy to get in that area. Make a rational decision about this. You will need to stay in your other job until you get fortunate or make the decision to move away from the area to get a job when the time comes. As long as you accept that reality you will do fine.
