need advice: GMU or NVCC/NOVA nursing

Published

Hello lovely people!!

I really need opinions/ feedback, any and all is very welcome.

If I get my RN at nova then finish my RN-BSN at mason, it will take me 18 more months than if i go straight to mason.

my question is- should I just bite the bullet and just get some pre reqs done and just go to Mason for my Nursing? I have heard their program is not the best and the teachers are not very good and that it doesn't really prepare you to be an actual nurse. On the other hand, I have heard NOVA has amazing nursing teachers. Apparently their program prepares you more to be a nurse and is better. Does anyone have any idea whats really the difference is between the 2 schools? Is it worth it to sacrifice my time at nova (it will be much cheaper) to get a "more quality" education or is Mason nursing not as horrible as people make it out to be? I would finish faster if I did it at Mason but I would be in more debt. I understand I eventually have to get my BSN and I know some nurses do it online, Mason has an online rn-BSN program.

so my two options- either take longer at nova and be in less debt or go to mason, finish 18 months sooner and be in much more debt but risk not being the best nurse I can be.

Im just so torn on what to do. I feel like either way I am losing out on something. Anybody who has been through this or has advice as to what I should do PLEASE PLEASE tell me. I'm so lost, all I want to do is be a great nurse :(
