I have one year left of my adn program. I have been working full time and want to quit my job, but since I will have the smallest load yet this semester I can only justify quitting by working towards my bsn.
In order to do a adn-bsn bridge I have to have actually graduated with my adn right?
Can I finish the requirements for bsn at a university in addition to my adn and still receive my bsn?
What is the fastest, smartest way of doing this?
TIA!

You will still have to be accepted into a BSN program, and go through the nursing courses for it. You won't be able to use adn until you get it. You usually have to have a bit more prerequisites for BSN than ADN (at least here you do, I've been in both ADN and BSN programs and wieh I decided to leave the adn for BSN I had to complete the rest of the prereqs. and then apply and get accepted into the BSN program.
One more thing I just thought of, is schools don't usually take transfer Nursing credit, so unless you get your ADN you will have to stary over with the nursing curses anyway. You need to decide now what it is you want to do before proceeding with that last year. It might be better to just finish the ADN program and then bridge into an ADN to BSN/MSN program.

Uh, yeah, you do have to have the associates degree first. Seriously, stay where you are and finish. By the time you get accepted into the bsn program, you might be 6 months or less from finishing and then you can actually look to start working as an RN. After that if you want to kick it up a notch and go for the BSN, more power to ya.
