Need advice on creating a resume

Published

I am in my final week of LPN school and part of the program was to have a the school prepare resumes. When I received mine I was quite disappointed to find that the 15 years I spent in the business and customer service world was totally eliminated to 1 line listing the company name and the duration of time I worked there. Would it be appropriate to add some of my previous experience (esp my customer service) back into the resume. After all, nursing is a people job. I also have alot of computer experience does it count for anything? Please help. Any feedback good or bad will be welcome. I am finding jobs I want to apply for (I graduate on 10/9) I don't have my boards scheduled yet but am hoping to possible get a GPN job in the meantime. Any Advice??????????:coollook:

Put some relevant information about your business experience back in your resume, it is a myth that you do not include non-nursing experience in your resume. http://www.dcardillo.com/articles/seven.html

I would definitely put that on your resume....even if it wasn't healthcare related. It does show you have experience with people and it would tell the potential employer what you did for those 15 years.

Congratulations and good luck!

Thanks for your advice!:D
