Hi,
Im a first time traveller, having found a position in OR in Alaska..im in the process of drawing up a contract, well a contract has been drawn up for my perusing. Can some of you experienced travel nurses let me know if this is fair.
32/hour
210 per diem/week
800 towards my travel (as i am in australia)
245/week for rental car
(lodging/utilities provided by hospital supposedly)
50/week towards health insurance
100 towards my license
For me, not having done travel before, its all sounds pretty good, but i just want to make sure this is the right agency for me before i sign up. This one has a 1099 contract agreement, which i need to be clarified by the agency.
Thanks for any advice...

what part of Alaska are you going to? i lived there for 14 years and those costs are way under what it will cost, rental car. per dium, etc

I would look into what they mean by 1099. I believe this means you are contract labor, and are required to pay your own taxes. I have no idea how your work visa/international status works with paying US taxes. Hoping there is another international traveler out there that can help you. You could try posting your question on the international forum.
Good luck!
