My husband and I are eagerly pursuing a domestic open adoption! I am preparing a letter of introduction to mail to clinics in hopes that a Dr., Nurse or someone will put it into the hands of an expectant mother looking to place her child into an adoptive situation. I wondered if anyone here had any suggestions for getting these letters to the BEST person at a clinic, hospital, etc.? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Kindly,

Hi,
Since I just went through a domestic adoption of my newborn daughter, I would be more than happy to talk at length about it with you.
Just so that you know, unless there is an adoption plan already in progress, babies born without one are placed in foster care. The adoptive parents must be at the hospital to take time the birthmom is released

I don't honestly know if giving letters/information to HCPs would do anything. Of course, I'm still a student, so I don't really know what it's like in the field. If you want my advice, I'd suggest finding a good adoption agency. Good luck!!

This thread is more than four years old and we do not offer advice here on adoptions. This is something that you will need to take care of away from Allnurses.com.
Best of luck to you.
