Hello All,
I have already taken my pre-requisite classes for 2nd Bachelor Nursing programs for both University of Detroit Mercy and Eastern Michigan University. UDM has a 12 month long program, which I prefer, because I would like to be done with school ASAP. EMU's program is 20 months long and thus each semester the work load seem lighter. I have already been accepted by EMU for Fall 2012, and now am getting a letter from UDM regarding interview to get in for January 2013 (UDM took out their September admission for 2012, and only 2012...). If I were to go with UDM, I would graduate sooner than if I were to go with EMU. Also, I have 12 months left of BI Bill for tuition, so UDM would be covered as I would have to search for scholarship or pay out of my own pocket if I were to attend EMU.
With all mentioned above, seems like UDM would be a better choice for me doesn't it? But the main concern is-- would I be able to handle around 20 credit hour per semester in UDM? And also, how well do the students learn and perform in either nursing schools? And do employers prefer one over another? Advices are greately appreciated, thanks!

A BSN is a necessity these days so make your choice according to how well it fits your life. But as far as reputation employers regard UDM highly.
Thank you CandyGyrl!

Just curious why you didn't apply to Oakland univ 2nd degree program?
I actually had spoken to the nursing admin people, and found out that they take more than a year to accept students AFTER the student has finished all pre-reqs. I didn't want to spend a year doing nothing.

There are two sets of pre-reqs and the second group you take and complete after you are accepted. The plus of OU is that it is 12 months, they have a holistic approach to application process and it's a great school!
