So I was having physicals done today, the nurse came in, did a bit of stuff, then left me...and as I was sitting on the exam bed staring at the light above me, this voice inside my head started nagging at me..."NEVER LEAVE THE PATIENT. ON THE NCLEX NEVER LEAVE THE PATIENT. Dead or alive, with family or alone, infant or balding old, it doesnt matter! Never leave the patient."
And I just started laughing at myself...this is definitely a symptom of chronic NCLEX-itis...
RULES TO PLAY WITH THE NCLEX:
1. NEVER Leave the Patient.
2. NEVER ask WHY questions .
3.NEVER ask Yes or NO questions.
4. Use least restrictive measures first
5.NEVER confront a person/ discuss complaint. Follow the chain of command.
6. Do not Focus on the nurse
7.If with infection, treat patient first before dealing with family/friends/partners etc who can also be infected
8.In psych patients, adress their concerns but reorient them to reality
9. Be a DRUG addict (seriously know your drugs in and out)
10. The NCLEX is not the REAL WORLD.
Goodluck to all of you testtakers out there!!
