Hi there RNs!
Since the program (Excelsior) is non-traditional, any tips from Excelsior rn grads who have passed the nclex? Thanks!

I used the Saunders NCLEX guide for my Nursing Concepts exams, and I am using it also for my NCLEX, which won't be till after my grad date of Sept 21. The Nursing Concepts were really prepared to prep you for the NCLEX, IMO.
Good Luck...when will you graduate? PM me if you wanna chat about this offline.
ok. i will. thanks!

I graduated from Excelsior in March and passed NCLEX in April. The only review I did was to read....not STUDY, just read....NCLEX Made Incredibly Easy. I felt I was prepared. The Excelsior Nursing Concepts exams are a REAL good warm-up for NCLEX! Besides...after going through my CPNE and passing.. I was not intimidated by NCLEX! If you can pass CPNE, you can pass ANYTHING! Excelsior students have an extremely high first-time NCLEX pass rate. My exam was shut off at 75 questions... I was there about an hour. Good luck...you will do fine!:loveya:

I just studied the areas I knew I was weakest in. I didn't stress about taking the NCLEX after passing the CPNE. That was enough stress to last me a year.
Sounds as though you both breezed through the Excelsior program. It took me years---to complete. (really!!) I hope Kaplan is enough.
HerbivorousRN-would you recommend Nclex Made Incredibly Easy? I do have the Nclex RN Book, Saunders & Kaplan book already. Anything to help me do well on this one will be much much appreciated!!!!!!!!
And yes, after the CPNE, not too much can top that for nerves and stress! (CPNE was the clinical performance portion of the program--2-1/2 days of being assessed in a hospital setting with patients & tested & timed for lab skills!!! for those of you who are wondering...) Thank you in advance! :)
Yes... I definitely recommend NCLEX MADE INCREDIBLY EASY !!
It is a GREAT resource.
ok. i'm off to amazon.com. thanks so much!
