i can't give a good explanation but i would say carotid. i figure depending on location of surgery or injury you would check the other 3 during csmt's.

Carotid. I have been taught that applying pressure to the carotid's simultaniously can cause the patient to pass out. Also as a treatment for a SVD child recently I was taught that massaging the carotid's will produce a parasympathetic response in the heart, slowing the rate. You wouldn't want to do this on someone with a normal to brady rate.

I believe it is the carotid pulse. If you apply pressure to both sides at the same time, you can disrupt the cerebral blood flow. The carotid pulse is also used to assess cranial circulation. I hope this helps and maybe someone else has a different answer to this question.

Carotid, by applying pressure to both sides at the same time, you are decreasing CBF, which you would not want to do. :)

Carotid, because it supplies needed bloodflow to the brain.
