hi Guyz! i just wanna ask who to attend first.. a person who had multiple lacerations on the face or a person who had an object eye injury? thanks!

Thank you Guyz! :) i choose Laceration of the face though.. just wanna make sure coz i was confused on both! I've encountered this question on my 1st exam & failed! and there's a whole lot confusing question on prioritization in there! so tough! geezz.. i need to study more! :)

i've accoutered questions like that before, just remember abc's always, and a object in the eye has nothing to do with airway, breathing or circulation. look at it this way, what if you go in check on the eye pt and get him ready for surgery and then the pt with laceration goes into respiratory arrest. what you should do is check on the pt with laceration (face, airway), confirm if he/she has no complications and then check on your pt with the eye object. like the previous poster said, the pt has another eye, but the laceration pt can die on you. sometimes the questions won't give you enough info, but it's up to you as a nurse to know better. ever since i truly understood abc's i haven't gotten a priority or delegation question wrong. remember this is nclex not real life. get the la charity book if you haven't.

good luck
