Hi! Just wanted to give some insight on my recent nclex!
(I'm in Cali, so I don't know my results, took it Tuesday the 25th)
my my test was crazy. Well to me lol. I stopped at 85 questions In those I had:
1 "cultural diversity" question
About 10-12 lab values ( so glad I knew those!)
10 or so meds, side effects and what not.
8-10 delegation/ ethical/ "charge nurse style" questions
a few maternity
like 2-4 peds
And the rest med surg
i had no math! Grrrrrr my strongest point lol
no diagrams
no prioritize question
no hot spot
Oh And I had a mix on my meds, some were only generic name, while others gave both brand and generic. Then 1 question said a disease process and explained it... Wish it did that on all of them hahaha
just a heads up, cause I had read a few posts saying people didn't have too much meds, and I had quite a few.....
Best set of luck to all :)
Hi I never updated my post. So this is what happened.
After taking my my nclex and stopping at the minimum. Questions I cried a lot! I freaked out and stressed out worrying if I passed or not! Some questions I wasn't sure about. Then of course I was doubting myself.
Well a a long wait which felt like forever ( 5 weeks), I got my results. I had PASSED the NCLEX! My gosh I wish they gave me my score!!!
So i so I just want to say to those taking the NCLEX soon or in the future: don't freak out. You are smarter than you think!
Day before my test- studied until going to bed. I did all Saunders online and a few from my app NCLEX mastery PN (it's free with a pay option).
Day at of my test: it was at 2pm. I made it afternoon so I wouldn't be rushing in the morning. So I had a nice homemade breakfast. I took a BATH. SAt there a bit, shaved my legs, let the conditioner soak in, put a facial mask on and just winded down. Blow dried my hair nicely. Did my makeup pretty. I had a small cup of coffee with my breakfast. Put on some super comfy clothes (workout clothes for me). My good luck pink breast cancer awareness Nike elite socks on and my Fav pink nikes. I drove to my test site which was about 20min away from me, I left 45min before my scheduled test time. I actually went in 25min early.
Went in. Did the picture, id, all that nonsense. Got to my cubicle began the test. Quickly wrote down a few labs and notes I was afraid I might forget. Started my test stress free. Not rushing too much. I read each question about 3 times before answer then again after answering. I was confident when I answered.
I just want to say. Do not stress out! Study hard and make sure you study your weaknesses. Be familiar with Meds and the roots of the word, that will help! Think big picture. Remember your text book, what I said and examples you talked about in class. Think of the family members you know who take medicines. Why are they taking it? Think about diagnoses you have come across and side effects.
Relax ax and be prepared and you will do great!
