Hi.

I passes nclex rn last june 2015. Since my vise was ony valid until July 10, the license issued to me was active only until july 10. My I-94 (determines length of stay in US... prevails over visa) is until December 20. I submitted my I94 to BON but no response yet. Now, I am just waiting. I do not have SSN yet because I aman H4 visa. We,are, waiting for my green card or working permit so I can apply for SSN and also communicate with BON to have my license status be activated.

My plan really is to work into one of the state within the 24 compact state. I am licensed,in AZ this, june and i am planning to work in maryland since that is where my family is moving. Hoe does the process work? Is SSN enough documentation to prove primary state of residence? Does it take long to get SSN?

How does the process work?

I don't know particularly in that state.

Is SSN enough documentation to prove

primary state of residence?

No. SSN is not a prove of residency. The prove of residency is your state driver license, State ID... check state website for that.

Does it take long to get SSN?

It doesn't take long as long as you have all the required documents. I believe I had to have a valid passport, a green card, a married certificate (if applicable). I received it within a week.

From what I learned in class, even though your license is a compact state license but if you plan to work in the state that didn't issue your license. You should endorse your license to that state. Legal issue I heard. I might be wrong.

Each state has their own requirements and because you plan on moving to a new state then the compact agreement doesn't really work as you will need to apply to the state for a permanent license as primary address when moving is usually in the new state. Compact works from my understanding based on where the primary address is.

Once you have EAD, if applied for when getting GC, then once you have US SSN you can process application and get license as long as all requirements are met
